Overview


The Salon Leader (SL) is one of the most important positions on the team and is responsible for leading the salon and team members to model ASG’s core values to be the best while serving our clients in a friendly, and professional way. The SL will accomplish this by demonstrating the principles of customer service and applying techniques effectively, creatively, and with efficiency. The SL should apply strong communication skills to conduct custom consultation ensuring that all clients’ expectations are exceeded.  


Job Duties

       

  • Effectively recruiting top talent, including interviewing, and hiring.
  • Evaluating team member performance and consistently meeting with team members, formulating and documenting individual goals.
  • Modeling quality services by consulting with clients and applying the appropriate service techniques.   
  • Recommending and participating in all approved local marketing initiatives including depth and frequency of coupon campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and client appreciation events.
  • Educating clients and team members about proper home hair care and recommending services and products to help the client maintain their hairstyle between salon visits.
  • Exhibiting customer service best practices by leading and inspiring your team, ensuring each client’s satisfaction, and building client loyalty.
  • Providing customized consultations with each client, including stating the final price before the service begins.
  • Completing all required salon leadership administrative tasks (i.e., closing out a ticket on the POS system, timecards, inventory control, timekeeping, onboarding new team members and scheduling appointments) promptly.
  • Communicating effectively and positively with all clients, team members, leadership, and the corporate support team.
  • Meeting or exceeding productivity standards set by ASG.
  • Leading, training and modeling all services offered at the salon.
  • Maintaining flexibility in scheduled shifts to fit the needs of the business, including potential night and weekend shifts.
  • Attending all required technical training sessions.
  • Following ASG policies as defined in the Handbook and salon specific operational procedures (including but not limited to bank deposits/runs, salon cleaning/maintenance, and disinfecting styling implements).


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Ability to lead the team and work as a team-player and/or independently.
  • Marketing yourself and the team in the community and salon to increase your salons’ clientele.
  • Modelin exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Providing consistent and excellent customer service skills.
  • Multi-tasking efficiently to complete and manage salon duties (such as store meetings, scheduling, cash management, and reporting).
  •  Showing a willingness to learn new techniques and stay current with hair trends
  • Leading through change and applying effective coaching abilities.


The physical requirements of the position may require bending, sitting, twisting, turning, lifting (generally 10-15 pounds),

and/or standing for extended periods of time.


Experience

      

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Stylist
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a salon leadership role


Education

·        Must maintain a valid cosmetology or barber’s

license.


·        *All SLs with 3 or fewer years of experience at a HH or CC salon must attend an Alline 3-Day Ignite

Training Course.     


·        *All SC SLs must participate in the Hair Stylist Academy (HSA) program and receive a certificate of completion.


·        *All SC SLs are encouraged to obtain the Supercuts Color Certification.


Work Location

 


·        The SL role is based at an ASG (SC, HH, or CC) salon location.
